Heritage-listed residence 1

Alterations & additions for a Qld Heritage-registered property.
(2004-2007)

This residence was originally built as a private home in the 1860s. Under the direction of the present owner, a series of alterations and additions were undertaken.

Scope of involvement

  1. Conservation and project architect for completion of a swimming pool and pavilion additions including a separate laundry and entertainment pavilion to the rear of the house.
  2. Design and documentation for a private “Potters Studio” within the landscaped grounds of the house.
  3. A separate garage extension to the property.  This is a two storey building accommodating 5 cars, a caretaker’s unit, guest bedroom, kitchen, entertainment level and wine cellar.  The building was designed to be respectful and ancillary to the existing Queensland Heritage-registered building without imitating the original.

Note:
This project was undertaken as conservation and project architect for Ivan McDonald Architects.
Interior design by the Dunkley Cook Design Partnership.
